Targeting Types for Outreach Agents

Learn how to set up and use Automatic, Manual, and Connections targeting for your Outreach Agents.

Updated over a month ago

Automatic Targeting is the only targeting type available to Free Trial users. Pilot, Full-Time, and Enterprise include all targeting types.

Overview

When you create an Outreach Agent, you choose how it should source prospects. Targeting types determine where leads come from and how they are fed into the Agent for research, validation, and outreach.

CallSine currently supports four targeting types:

  • Automatic

  • Manual

  • Connections

  • Webhook (RB2B, Snitcher, LeadOnion)

Additional sourcing options will be released over time.

Automatic Targeting

Automatic (Auto) targeting is the default option. You describe your audience in natural language, and the Agent translates those details into searchable filters.

After you submit a persona, the Agent:

  • Converts the text into filters such as title, industry, location, and company size

  • Pulls matching leads from CallSine’s database of 120M+ verified contacts

  • Displays sample prospects so you can confirm they match your ICP

Once the Agent is live, it continues sourcing new prospects daily using the same persona criteria.

Manual Targeting

Manual targeting allows your Agent to work from a list you supply. The only manual step is adding and assigning the leads—after that, the Agent handles research, messaging, and scheduling.

To use Manual targeting:

  1. Select Manual in the Campaign Wizard.

  2. Describe your audience on the Instructions page. Details such as titles, industries, or geographies help with personalization.

  3. After the Agent is created, upload or assign your CSV of prospects in the People tab.

The Agent treats manually uploaded contacts the same way it treats Auto-sourced contacts: it validates data, performs research, and sends outreach on schedule.

Connections Targeting

Connections targeting uses your LinkedIn network as the prospect source. Once your LinkedIn account is synced, the Agent can bring in eligible contacts, filter them, and write personalized messages.

To use this option:

  1. Create a new Outreach Agent in the Campaign Wizard.

  2. Select Connections as the targeting type.

  3. Describe which contacts to reach—for example, “Only CFOs in the United States.”

The Agent filters your network based on persona fit and recent conversation history. If a contact is a poor match or has been engaged recently, the Agent will skip them automatically.

Webhook Targeting (RB2B, Snitcher, LeadOnion)

Webhook targeting allows the Agent to receive leads from external intent data platforms. When RB2B, Snitcher, or LeadOnion detects a qualified visitor, the system pushes that lead directly into your Outreach Agent.

To set up a Webhook campaign:

  1. In the Campaign Wizard, select Webhook as the targeting type.

  2. Complete the rest of the Wizard and create the Agent.

  3. In Settings, generate a webhook URL and paste it into your intent data platform.

  4. When new visitors match your criteria, they are sent directly to the Agent for validation, research, and outreach.

Webhook-sourced prospects only arrive when your intent platform sends new data. If no new visitors meet the criteria, no prospects are added that day. All normal safeguards apply: email validation, persona fit checks, and channel eligibility.

Moving Forward

More targeting types are in development and may appear in the Campaign Wizard as they are released.
