Overview
No matter how your Outreach Agent sources leads—Automatic, Manual, Connections, or webhook-based integrations—you can manually assign additional prospects from your own lists. This gives you full control over supplementing campaigns with existing data while letting the Agent handle research, personalization, and sending.
Step 1: Import Prospects
You can upload prospects through the People tab.
Open People from the left navigation menu.
Click Import and upload a CSV file.
During upload, apply a Tag to help filter and assign these contacts later.
Tagging prospects is strongly recommended. Tags allow fast filtering when assigning prospects in bulk.
Step 2: Locate Imported Prospects
Once the upload is complete, your prospects appear in the People table.
To locate them:
Click Open Search to expand filters.
Filter by Tag, or any field such as title, company, or email status.
This makes it easy to group and assign only the prospects you want.
Step 3: Assign Prospects to an Agent
After locating your imported contacts:
Select the prospects you want to assign.
You can select up to 50 prospects at a time.
To increase how many appear per page, use Show 20/50 at the bottom right of the table.
Click Assign to Agent.
Choose the Outreach Agent you want to assign them to.
The selected prospects are now part of that Agent’s prospect pool.
Important:
You must have an Outreach Agent created before assigning prospects. Agents tied to Manual, Automatic, Connections, or webhook-based sources can all accept imported prospects.
What Happens After Assignment
If the Agent is already live
Prospects are not added instantly. Instead, the Agent brings them in using its normal daily flow:
Enriches each contact
Runs research
Generates messaging
Schedules outreach safely within channel limits
You’ll see these contacts appear gradually in the People tab as they are processed.
If the Agent has not launched yet
A first batch of prospects appears quickly so you can:
Generate example outreach
Review tone and personalization
Provide Guidance or Style Guide updates before launch
This allows effective QA before the Agent begins sending messages.
Best Practice: Use Tags for Quick Assignment
Tags make it easy to segment imported lists and assign prospects in bulk. Many teams tag prospects based on campaign, event, or upload source (for example: “Q1 Webinar Leads” or “LeadOnion Import”).
Using consistent tagging saves time and prevents accidentally assigning the wrong leads to the wrong campaign.
